COMMUNITY TIP #1 - MOMENTUM
Updated: Aug 13, 2020
I started Tips Accepted with the hope that I could share AND learn from other like-minded people in the personal finance community.
It is with this in mind that I decided to create Community Tips. This series will share life experiences and tips from readers like you.
To get us started, I will kick-off our first community post.
Age Range: Second half of my 20s
Location: I'll just say that my sunglasses need sunglasses. ;)
Do you consider yourself a saver, a spender, or a little of both ?
I would consider myself a saver.
Care to share a milestone you are proud of? Celebrate your wins!
I was fortunate enough to graduate debt-free from college. This gave me the flexibility needed to save and purchase my first home at 24. This home turned into my "house hacking" side hustle.
Share a lesson you've learned and a tip you would give others:
Making a change in your life is not always easy, but by simply being here today you are taking a step.
My tips is this: Don't get discouraged by seemingly small steps. All steps add up to create big changes. Commit to taking one small step per day.
My most impactful small step was automating my savings. To this day, my bank account still auto transfers money from my checking to my savings on a weekly basis.
What do you consider to be the worst financial advice you've gotten?
"You earn enough, you can afford it..."
That, my friends, is called lifestyle inflation and I don't want it.
Be mindful of where your money goes.
